Structure Inspection

Examine the outside perimeter of the home for obvious signs of deterioration, unsealed penetrations, cracks and gaps, loose siding or trim and any other potential problem areas.

Examine the mechanical system, hot water heater and electric panel for anomalies.

Provide thermal imaging of basement and all levels of exterior walls, doors and windows to determine the integrity of the present air barrier in these areas. 

Thoroughly scan and document the top floor ceiling to observe the effectiveness of the attic insulation, possible voids, and check for air infiltration. 

Observe and scan any recessed lights, switch plates and electrical outlets for air leakage.

Document any areas of concern with regard to moisture or mold potential.

Report of the inspection detailing visible signs of problem areas

Suggestions of solutions for existing problem areas

Fees start at $275 for homes 2000 square feet and under (add 7 cents per sq ft above 2000)

Freelance consulting is available.  Rates are $110 for the first hour and billed at $45 per half hour thereafter.
