Piedmont Energy Analysis is a new service in the Piedmont region utilizing Thermography to assess areas for energy improvement in all types of buildings. Thermography (infrared thermal imaging) detects areas of heat loss and air leakage in building envelopes, showing where buildings need insulation or other energy efficient solutions. The camera converts invisible infrared radiation to a visible image, producing a blueprint for repair and eliminating the need to guess about where energy loss is occurring. The results of an IR scan can determine when simply caulking would solve the air infiltration problem rather than window replacement being necessary. This allows the homeowner’s money to be spent more effectively in the battle against energy loss.
